Community Heroes 2025!

The Parish Council are pleased to announce that four people will receive a community trophy this year. The recipients are:

Dave Farron

For collecting and archiving the history of Bradwell Village through photographs, sourcing them from various places. He also manages a village Facebook group dedicated to preserving and sharing this history.

Brian and Linda Hamilton (Victoria Inn)

For preserving the tradition of the Beer and Bun Race, an event that has been bringing the community together since 1967. Their efforts ensure that this much loved tradition continues, uniting villagers and visitors alike. In addition to the race through the alleys of Vicarage Road, they also organise children’s entertainment, making it a truly inclusive and enjoyable event for all ages.

Paul Hussey

He has been the Chair of the Inclusive Learning Federation, which includes Priory Common and Bradwell Village and another school in Bletchley since 2018. He has been the Chair of Bradwell Village School since 2017. All the schools have really benefitted from his leadership and his experience as a former Headteacher in Milton Keynes.

Michael O'Grady

Michael is a caring and helpful person who has united the part of Bradwell Common in which he lives. His unwavering support for the local community is truly commendable. Whether he’s comforting grieving neighbours, sharing his knowledge, or simply lifting spirits with his humour first thing in the morning, Michael radiates warmth, resilience, and good-natured banter. People like him are rare, and many in the community consider him an unsung hero.
