MAJOR CHANGES TO LOCAL BUS SERVICES FROM 25 APRIL 2010

The bus company, Arriva (formerly MK Metro), introduced radical changes to most local bus services in Milton Keynes from 25th April 2010. This is how the changes affect the Bradwell Parish area.

ROUTE 4A will no longer run along Grafton Street and will also not serve Wolverton or Stony Stratford BUT

ROUTE 5 and 5A operates a service about every 8 minutes along Grafton Street between Bradwell Common/Rooksley and Bradwell/Heelands on weekday daytimes. At the Bancroft roundabout (junction Grafton St / Monks Way) the route will split. Alternate buses will follow the existing 5 route to Wolverton then continue back along the existing 4A route via Stony Stratford. Alternate buses are numbered 5A and go along Monks Way to Stacey Bushes then via Stony Stratford to Wolverton and back via Bradville. This forms a two way loop. Southwards, the 5 and 5A go by the existing route except between Lakes Estate and central Bletchley.

ROUTES 6 and 12 WERE WITHDRAWN

BUT

NEW ROUTE 3 serves Heelands (Langcliffe Drive and Glovers Lane) and Bradwell Village (Loughton Road and Dansteed Way stops). It runs half hour on weekday daytimes and its full route is:

Bradville – Heelands (but not serving Gibsons Green where the houses are) – Bradwell Village (Loughton Road but not Colley Hill) – Grafton Street – Central Rail Station – then Avebury Boulevard to Sainsbury’s – then round the houses via Oldbrook and Fishermead – to Central MK shopping area – Campbell Park – Willen Lake – Open University – Kingston Centre – Woburn Sands.

SERVICE 23 This serves Bradwell Common Monday - Saturday daytimes HOURLY on the old 6 routeing. It then extends to Heelands Local Centre in a one way loop returning on the old 6 route. The bus goes to Central MIlton Keynes then on to Conniburrow, Great Linford and Bradville (Marlborough Roundabout)

ROUTE 33 CMK – Grafton Street – Wolverton – Hanslope – Northampton was one of the few routes not changing on 25 April.
